Motorola Pet Training Series, Product Design

When Binatone, official licensee of Motorola decided to venture into the pet industry, they reached out to Luur.  Since this was a completely new category for our client, we not only had the opportunity to design the product, but we were also tasked with creating a complete story, packaging, and retail experience.  After researching the market, we found that existing products were very utilitarian.  As pet lovers, we knew that most people with pets see them as an extension of their family.  We started with this story and created the overall message, "Pets are Family".  We then developed a range of user friendly pet training products that look great on pets.  We introduced new ideas like a wireless fence unit with multiple configurations; allowing it to be placed on a table, wall mounted, or staked in the yard so perfect placement can be attained.  The hand-held remote trainer can also be clipped to a leash.  Continuing to work toward a friendlier product, we also got the opportunity to create a line of ultrasonic training devices.  We are excited to see both lines available in stores.
